Thompson Creek announces 30% increase in molybdenum mineral reserves and new 16-year mine plan for Thompson Creek Mine

Thompson Creek Metals Company Inc. ("Company"), one of the world's largest publicly traded, pure molybdenum producers, today announced new estimates for mineral resources and reserves and a new 16-year mine plan at its Thompson Creek Mine in Idaho. The new estimates are based on definition drilling conducted at the mine since the previous estimates were published in 2007.

"The drilling results are a positive development for the Company. We found additional mineable areas, particularly within the western wall of the existing pit, resulting in a 30% increase in contained molybdenum in proven and probable mineral reserves compared with the 2007 estimate," said Kevin Loughrey, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer.

Ivanhoe Mines Receives US$388 Million From Rio Tinto to Advance Oyu Tolgoi Copper-Gold Mining Complex in Mongolia

Ivanhoe Mines' (TSX: IVN)(NYSE: IVN)(NASDAQ: IVN) Executive Chairman Robert Friedland announced today that the company has received US$388 million from Rio Tinto to complete Rio Tinto's Tranche 2 private placement financing announced on October 13, 2009.

Rio Tinto's equity ownership in Ivanhoe Mines now has increased to 19.7%. The additional funds will be used to help build and commission the open-pit mine and to advance development of the underground block-cave mine at Ivanhoe's Oyu Tolgoi copper-gold project in Mongolia.

The terms of the private placement were negotiated as part of the original Ivanhoe Mines-Rio Tinto strategic partnership established in October 2006 to develop the Oyu Tolgoi mining complex.

Copper Mountain Rejects Taseko's Unsolicited Proposal

Copper Mountain Mining Corporation ("CMMC" or the "Company) announces that on the afternoon of September 15, 2009 the Company received a highly conditional, non-binding untimely share exchange proposal ("Proposal") from Taseko Mines Limited ("Taseko"). The Copper Mountain Board ("CM Board") allowed Taseko to personally present the Proposal to the CM Board. The Proposal contemplated a $10 million private placement by Taseko in the Company at $2.20 per share conditional, amongst other things, that the Company enter into an exclusivity agreement with Taseko. The CM Board noted that the Proposal was subject to among other things a 14 day due diligence period. Taseko also informed the CM Board that the final terms of the Proposal required Taseko's board approval. In addition, Taseko required the Proposal to be effected under a plan of arrangement and Taseko required more than 120 days to complete this.

Goldbrook Ventures Inc. ("Goldbrook") (TSX VENTURE: GBK) is pleased to announce the first results from its 2009 Raglan project diamond drilling program. This program is carried out under an Option-Joint Venture agreement with Jilin Jien Nickel Industry Co., Ltd. of China. Goldbrook contracted four drill rigs from Bradley-Nuvumiut (Rouyn-Noranda) for a minimum of 15,000 metres of BQ-size core. The exploration program also includes geological mapping, prospecting and an extensive airborne VTEM geophysical survey. Field crews mobilized to the Belanger base camp in mid June. As of late August a total of 77 holes totaling over 14,000 meters had been completed.
