Hong Kong Schools activate disaster plan for teachers, students and parents to use the UniServity Learning Platform to continue with their learning online from home 

On Wednesday 29th April, the Hong Kong Education Bureau urged parents of all Hong Kong Kindergartens, Primary and Special Schools not to send their children to school with flu like symptoms. All schools will be closed if the ‘Swine Flu’ situation worsens in the region.  Learning will continue for Schools using the UniServity cLc (connected Learning communities) Learning Platform, with teachers and students accessing the Learning Platform from home as they would normally do.

A global campaign to promote handwashing, pioneering work in stroke prevention, and improving care for kidney dialysis patients, scooped three of the top prizes at the first ever BMJ Group Awards ceremony last night.

The winner of the Lifetime Achievement Award - voted for by BMJ readers and presented by Stella Dutton, CEO of BMJ Group - went to Professor Judith Longstaff Mackay for her contribution to the fight against tobacco across the world.
 
The BMJ Group Awards, held in association with The Health Foundation, recognise and celebrate excellence in healthcare across the globe. TV Chef Lawrence Keogh Launches Tasty Cookbook For World Kidney Day

 

On Thursday 12th March more than 100 countries will celebrate World Kidney Day, a global health awareness campaign that focuses on the importance of our kidneys and reducing the frequency and impact of kidney disease and its associated health problems worldwide.

 

In celebration of World Kidney Day, renowned TV chef Lawrence Keogh, from BBC One’s Saturday Kitchen and head chef at Roast restaurant in London’s Borough Market will launch the Rediscovering Food & Flavours Cookbook.
