6th July 2011 - Reports that Google has quietly delisted the co.cc sub-domain from its main search engine have been applauded by Lieberman Software, but says Philip Lieberman, the privileged identity management specialist's President, there are many other `iffy’ sub-domains that could also do with the Google chop.

 "Co.cc is one of the relatively new generation of sub-domains assigned to a company, which has offered free domain registrations for several years. Predictably, this has resulted in large volumes of spammers and other low grade registrants flocking to its doors," he said.

 

"But co.cc is only one of several `spammy' domain name groups that are causing problems for Internet users.

June 29th 2011 - Yell today announces that Richard Hanscott has been appointed as Chief Executive Officer of Yell UK. Richard takes up his role on July 18 and will report to Yell Group Chief Executive Officer Mike Pocock.

 Richard has extensive knowledge of the IT and telecommunications sectors, particularly mobile, and of building successful consumer and B2B businesses. His expertise covers telecommunications and computing products and services for small businesses and the home.

 Richard was most recently Chief Executive Officer of NEC Germany and Vice President Network Solutions NEC Europe. Prior to NEC, he was at Orange from 1997 to 2006, in senior sales and marketing roles, including Vice President Business Development & Partnerships at Orange Group from 2003. His earlier career was spent at Hewlett-Packard and at several software development companies.
