Ted Rogers: A Titan and a Visionary

It is with great sadness that Rogers Communications Inc. announces the death of company founder Edward Samuel "Ted" Rogers, a visionary communications industry pioneer and a titan in Canadian business. He was 75.

Mr. Rogers, known for his relentless drive, built Rogers Communications into a Canadian leader in wireless telecommunications, cable television, broadcasting, publishing and more. Mr. Rogers' name is synonymous with innovative, high-quality communications products across Canada.

He leaves his wife, Loretta; four children: Lisa, Edward (Suzanne), Melinda (Eric) and Martha; and four grandchildren: Chloe, Edward, Jack and Zachary.

Nuance Makes Tender Offer to Acquire Zi Corporation for US$0.40 per share in Cash

Nuance Communications, Inc. (NASDAQ: NUAN) today commenced a cash tender offer to purchase all of the outstanding shares of Zi Corporation (NASDAQ: ZICA, TSX: ZIC) for US$0.40 per share in cash, in furtherance of its previously announced acquisition proposal for a total transaction value of approximately US$20 million.

The tender offer is scheduled to expire at 5:00 p.m. MT on Wednesday, December 31, 2008. The offer is subject to the terms, conditions and other details set forth in the offering documents that Nuance has filed with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and applicable Canadian provincial securities commissions.

Hutchison Telecom Declares a Special Cash Dividend of HK$7 Per Share Payable on Dec. 2, 2008

Hutchison Telecommunications International Limited ("Hutchison Telecom", the "Company", SEHK: 2332; NYSE: HTX) today announced that the Board has declared a special cash dividend of HK$7 per share or approximately US$13.55 per ADS (Note), totalling approximately HK$33.7 billion (or approximately US$4.35 billion).

As previously announced, the Company has maintained its cash balance to fund any acquisition opportunities which may arise. In view of the lack of suitable new opportunities, the Board has decided that the special distribution best maximises shareholder value. Accordingly, the Board has declared a special cash dividend of HK$7 per share or approximately US$13.55 per ADS payable on 2 December 2008 respectively to shareholders of record on 28 November 2008 and ADS holders of record on 25 November 2008.

AT&T to Acquire Centennial Communications, Enhance Service for Wireless Customers and Businesses

AT&T Inc. (NYSE:T) and Centennial Communications Corp. (Nasdaq:CYCL) today announced that AT&T plans to acquire Centennial, a regional provider of wireless and wired communications services, for $944 million in cash. The transaction will enhance AT&T’s wireless coverage for customers in largely rural areas of the Midwest and Southeast United States and in Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands. With the addition of Centennial’s wired network in Puerto Rico, AT&T will also be able to better serve the company’s business customers who operate there.

As a result of the acquisition, Centennial’s 1.1 million wireless subscribers — many of them in rural areas — will have access to the wireless network with the best global coverage and to the nation’s premier lineup of innovative wireless devices, including iPhone 3G, an AT&T exclusive.
