Rogers Wireless today announced the commercial availability of Rogers' next generation super-charged High Speed Packet Access Plus (HSPA+) network in Vancouver, Calgary, Toronto, Ottawa and Montreal, clocking in at maximum speeds of 21 Megabits per second (Mbps). Millions of Canadians can access the fastest wireless speeds in North America through the new 21 Mbps HSPA+ Rocket Mobile Internet Stick, which customers can pre-order online only at starting today.

NIVS IntelliMedia Granted Mobile Phone License

NIVS IntelliMedia Technology Group, Inc., ("NIVS" or the "Company") (NYSE: NIV), a consumer electronics company that designs, manufactures and sells intelligent audio and visual products, today announced that the Company has been granted the license to manufacture mobile phones by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. The Company will be allowed to operate its mobile phone business in mainland China under NIVS's own brand name.

NIVS currently has the R&D capabilities and intellectual property rights to manufacture 3G mobile phones and has already introduced a dual-mode EVDO/GSM 3G handset to the market. The license will allow the Company to speed up the market entry for such handsets under the NIVS brand name.

iBasis, Inc.'s Board of Directors Receives from Royal KPN N.V. Notice of Intent to Commence Cash Tender Offer to Increase Equity Ownership to up to 100%

iBasis, Inc. (NASDAQ: IBAS), a leading wholesale carrier of international long distance telephone calls and a provider of retail prepaid calling services and enhanced services for mobile operators, announced today that its Board of Directors has received a letter from Royal KPN N.V. indicating its intention to commence a tender offer to increase KPN's equity ownership to up to 100% at an offer price of $1.55 per share in cash. iBasis anticipates that its Board of Directors will form a special committee of independent directors to consider the matter.

KPN is the Company's largest stockholder, holding approximately 56% of the Company’s outstanding stock. There can be no assurance that any transaction will occur or, if a transaction occurs, what the structure or terms of such transaction would be.

Atlantic Tele-Network to Acquire Divestiture Properties from Verizon Wireless

Atlantic Tele-Network, Inc. (NASDAQ: ATNI) today announced a definitive agreement to acquire certain wireless assets from Verizon Wireless for $200 million. Under terms of the agreement, ATN will acquire wireless properties, including wireless spectrum licenses and network assets, serving over 800,000 subscribers primarily in rural areas across Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Illinois, Ohio, and Idaho. Verizon Wireless is required to divest these properties as part of the regulatory approvals granted for its purchase of Alltel earlier this year.

Under terms of the agreement, ATN will purchase the assets for $200 million in cash. ATN expects to fund substantially all of the purchase price with cash-on-hand and borrowings under its existing credit facility.
