Apoquindo Minerals Drills 29m of 3.3% CuT in \"New Zone\" at Elenita
Apoquindo Minerals Inc. (\"Apoquindo\" or the \"Company\") (TSX VENTURE:AQM) is pleased to announce the discovery of several new copper oxide zones at the Apoquindo Copper Oxide Project in Chile. The Company has completed 27,621.50m of drilling in the Elenita and Madrugador deposits of which 22,341.5m are exploratory and infill and 5,280m are twinning.
Elenita Highlights Include:
- 29m of 3.3% CuT in hole RQE-031 including 5m of 7.13%
- New Cu Oxide mantos discovered in Elenita towards N, E and S
- Mineralized zones remain open in several directions and at depth
Madrugador Highlights Include:
- 46m of 1.26% CuT in hole QE-036 - Significant expansion of Madrugador Sur zone towards the South and North
- New mineralised zone encountered in Brac II Zone
Select near surface intercepts at Elenita include:

Thicknesses of these mantos are between 2m and 30m. In addition, Apoquindo has discovered the presence of several high grade feeder zones associated with the mantos which supports the geological model being formulated by the Apoquindo technical team.
Select Intercepts at Madrugador Include:
---------------------------------------------------------------------- SELECT DRILL HOLE INTERCEPTS AT MADRUGADOR (Cut-off greater than 0.2% CuT) ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------------------------------------------------------------- DRILLHOLE FROM (m) TO (m) INTERVAL (m) CuT(%) ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------------------------------------------------------------- RQM-054 196 242 46 1.264 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Includes 196 221 25 1.948 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------------------------------------------------------------- RQM-057 57 93 36 1.081 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Includes 58 73 15 1.969 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------------------------------------------------------------- RQM-060 129 136 7 2.211 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Includes 131 135 4 2.940 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------------------------------------------------------------- RQM-061 134 173 39 1.088 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Includes 139 161 22 1.567 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------------------------------------------------------------- RQM-076 19 41 22 1.093 ----------------------------------------------------------------------At Madrugador South, Apoquindo continues to have success in drilling towards the south and north and the deposit remains open in both directions. In the Brac II Zone, a new copper oxide zone with mantos and veins has been discovered and drilled with encouraging results. Apoquindo will continue drilling these zones in order to encounter further extensions and new mineralized mantos.
The Company has commenced data compilation for its NI 43-101 Compliant Resource Evaluation which will be released in the third quarter of this year. Drill hole assay data received from both properties up to June 10th, 2008, will be utilized in the resources estimation. The NI 43-101 Resource Evaluation will be performed and audited by AMEC.
\"The extension of the manto type mineralization at Elenita should have a positive impact on the known historical resources,\" comments Alfredo Garcia, Exploration Manager of Apoquindo Minerals.
With this current exploration program, Apoquindo is in the process of confirming historical, near surface, resources of Elenita\'s 9.9M tons of 1.18% total copper at 0.2% cutoff and Madrugador\'s 2.14M tons of 1.14% total copper at a 0.4% cutoff in order to comply with National Instrument 43-101 standards. The two deposits were drilled in the mid nineties, by Princeton and Rayrock Yellowknife Resources, respectively and the above mentioned figures were reported by these companies prior to the NI 43-101 requirements and should therefore be considered historical resources and should not be relied upon. Furthermore, the results of the exploratory drilling will be reported in the same NI 43-101 Report.
Apoquindo has engaged AMEC to provide guidelines and consulting in the areas of Quality Assurance and Quality Control (QA/QC). Each duplicate, standard and blank is inserted every 20 samples. Assays are performed by ALS Chemex in Chile. To date, 21,209 samples results have been received including 1,060 standards and 1,061 duplicates which were analysed by ALS Chemex Laboratories in Antofagasta, Chile.
Dr. Tom Henricksen, a consultant geologist of the Company and the Company\'s Qualified Person for the purposes of NI 43-101, has approved the information contained in this news release.
