DANBURY, Conn., July 22, 2014 -- FuelCell Energy, Inc. (FCEL) a global leader in the design, manufacture, operation and service of ultra-clean, efficient and reliable fuel cell power plants, today announced that its affiliate FuelCell Energy Solutions, GmbH (FCES) has received nearly EURO5 million in awards by Germany's Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy to support a three year research and development project between FCES and joint venture partner Fraunhofer IKTS.

Plug Power Inc. Announces $30.0 Million Registered Offering

Plug Power Inc. (PLUG), a leader in providing clean, reliable energy solutions, today announced that it has priced an underwritten registered offering of 10,000,000 shares of its common stock and accompanying warrants to purchase 4,000,000 shares of its common stock. The shares and the warrants will be sold together in a fixed combination, with each combination consisting of one share of common stock and 0.40 of a warrant to purchase one share of common stock, at a price to the public of $3.00 per fixed combination for gross proceeds of $30.0 million. The securities were placed with a single institutional investor. The warrants will have an exercise price of $4.00 per share, are immediately exercisable and will expire on January 15, 2019.

Ballard Announces Sales Agreement With M-Field For Clean Baseload Power Systems

Ballard Power Systems (NASDAQ:BLDP )(TSX:BLD.TO ) today announced the sale of approximately 400 kilowatts (kW) of the Company's FCgen™-1300 fuel cell stack product to M-Field Energy Ltd. (www.m-field.com.tw), a Taiwan-based leader in the development of stationary fuel cell power systems.

M-Field plans to integrate the Ballard fuel cell stacks into multiple 100kW fuel cell systems designed to provide base load power as part of a complete hybrid renewable energy solution, in combination with wind turbines or photovoltaic power. These will be deployed throughout Asia in regions where there is demand for zero emission energy sources as a way of reducing greenhouse gas emissions.

MagneGas Distributor Signs Development Contract with Italian National Alternative Energy Agency

Italian National Alternative Energy Laboratory to Perform Tests on MagneGas

MagneGas Corporation ("MagneGas" or the "Company") (MNGA), the developer of a technology that converts liquid waste into hydrogen-based fuels, announces that its Italian Distributor, "Nuova MagneGas Italia" has signed a contract with the Italian National Alternative Energy Laboratory to perform various tests on MagneGas fuels.

ENEA (http://old.enea.it/com/ingl/) the Italian National Agency for New Technologies, Energy and Sustainable Economic Development, recently signed a contract with Nuova MagneGas Italia to perform testing of the gasification of various feedstocks and certification of internal combustion engine operation. These tests will initiate in February of 2014 and are expected to take 180 days to complete.  Any MagneGas equipment sales in Europe will be sourced from MagneGas Corp in the United States.

Plug Power to Develop Fuel Cell Range Extenders for FedEx Express Electric Delivery Trucks

Plug Power Inc. (PLUG), a leader in providing clean, reliable energy solutions, today announced it will develop hydrogen fuel cell range extenders for 20 FedEx Express electric delivery trucks, allowing FedEx Express to nearly double the amount of territory the vehicles can cover with one charge.

This $3 million project is funded by the US Department of Energy (DOE) and includes project partners FedEx Express, Plug Power and Smith Electric Vehicles. The resulting hybrid vehicles will be powered by lithium-ion batteries and a 10-kilowatt Plug Power hydrogen fuel cell system. The fuel cell solution is based on Plug Power's GenDrive Series 1000 product architecture.
