News Release: WestJet Revenue Passenger Miles Increase 31.5%

WestJet announced its traffic statistics for March 2004 today, featuring a 31.5% increase in revenue passenger miles (RPMs) to 467,032,079, up from 355,123,617 in March 2003. Year to date, RPMs increased 42.3% to 1,361,650,765 from 956,818,002 in the same period in 2003.

Available seat miles (ASMs) grew 29.8% to 689,505,152 in March 2004, up from 531,401,099 in March 2003. Year to date, ASMs have increased 35.2% to 2,007,542,603, up from 1,484,616,524 in the same three-month period in 2003.

WestJet's load factor for March 2004 was 67.7% compared with 66.8% in March 2003. During the first three months of 2004, the company's load factor was 67.8% compared with 64.4% during the same period in 2003. WestJet serves the 24 Canadian cities of Victoria, Comox, Vancouver, Abbotsford/Fraser Valley, Prince George, Kelowna, Grande Prairie, Calgary, Edmonton, Fort McMurray, Saskatoon, Regina, Winnipeg, Thunder Bay, Windsor, London, Hamilton, Toronto, Ottawa, Montreal, Moncton, Halifax, Gander and St. John's.
