News Release: Major Gold Intersection and New Discovery by First Narrows Resources at Golden Ridge

First Narrows Resources Corp. (TSX-VEN: UNO and OTC US: FNRWF) (the 'Company') announces that Hole GR-04-11 intersected 48.9 meters (160.4 feet) averaging 1.5 gram/tonne (g/t) gold, including 12.5 m averaging 2.6 g/t gold, on the Golden Ridge Gold Property in southern New Brunswick. Hole GR-04-12 intersected 26.0 m (85.3 feet) averaging 1.0 g/t gold, including 6.7 m averaging 1.987 g/t gold in the new discovery announced on February 26, 2004.

'The known gold mineralization is within the volcanic rocks that are interpreted as part of a volcanic dome and collapsed caldera complex. The results of the Company's drill program confirm the economic significance of the Golden Ridge Property, with the gold zones having the potential to develop into a large gold resource. Further, the results underscore the growing potential of New Brunswick's emerging gold belt', said Peter Gummer, President and CEO of First Narrows Resources.

The gold zones, distinguished by finely disseminated arsenopyrite needles and pyrite, have a low, less than 2 percent, sulfide content.

The Company has commenced detailed studies of the lithologies, structure, and mineralogy of the gold zones, and the distribution of gold therein.

Five drill holes currently have been completed with the sixth in progress. Drilling will continue on Golden Ridge until after spring breakup under the supervision of Mr. Richard Mann, P.Geo., the Company's Qualified Person for the Golden Ridge Property.

Freewest Resources Canada Inc. owns the Golden Ridge Property and the Company has an option agreement to earn a 50% interest in the property.
