Strong demand from call centres for Screen Service, the unique malicious call barring solution from SNT, has led the Dutch call centre operations and support specialist to double the number of ports on the Telsis switch that it bought to host the application – and buy a second switch as a development platform.

The upgrade to the Ocean fastSSP switch comes just in time for SNT to celebrate the signing of its 51st call centre customer and step up a marketing drive on two other bespoke call centre applications also recently developed and deployed on the Telsis platform. Built by SNT’s own engineers using the Telsis NODAL programming language, Screen Service has proved a valuable facility, especially on toll-free numbers. It lets agents instantly blacklist and bar nuisance callers, using a single key press. The CLI of each incoming call to Screen Service customers is looked up on an external database. Calls from blacklisted numbers are automatically rejected, minimising the customers’ costs and maximising their ability to handle genuine calls quickly and efficiently.

SNT operates its own call centres in The Netherlands, Belgium and Germany with a total of more than 4700 seats, as well as providing telecommunications and support services for other call centre operations throughout mainland Europe and Scandinavia.

Two new applications have recently joined Screen Service on the Telsis fastSSP platform, again developed by SNT using NODAL. ‘Call Me Now’ further exploits the switch’s facilities for integration with third party systems by enabling a rapid, personalised call back request facility from multiple, differently branded Web pages. ‘Call Completion Direct’ saves money by onward routing using the most cost effective connection.

Says SNT project manager Marcel Bal: “The Telsis switch is very fast and simple to programme and is proving totally reliable in service. It is an easy decision to invest in more Telsis technology both to host existing services and as a development platform for new ones.”

With its headquarters, research and production site in the UK, Telsis (www.telsis.com) has sales and support operations in France, Germany, Italy, The Netherlands, Spain, Singapore and Australia. The company offers a range of carrier-grade infrastructure platforms including intelligent SMS Routers, IN service control points, switches and advanced IVR solutions that support a wide variety of innovative value-added text and voice services. Telsis products are in use with major fixed and mobile network operators around the world.

SNT participates in the development of CRM concepts for clients. SNT interprets these concepts in its customer contact centers by making clients accessible to their customers via telephone, e-mail, chat, co-browsing and SMS. Management information, which clients can use to further interpret their marketing strategy and build up lasting relationships with customers, is distilled from these customer contacts using data-mining technologies. Together with its partners, SNT provides good service to millions of consumers annually in the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Finland and France.

The SNT Group comprises operating companies SNT The Netherlands, SNT Belgium and SNT Germany. Within SNT The Netherlands, market research bureau Interview-NSS operates as a 100% subsidiary company under its own name. In Scandinavia SNT works with alliance partner Excellent. VITALICOM is SNT’s partner in France.
