News Release: Intersects 22 feet of 2.37 opt Gold at Midway property in Nevada

RED EMERALD RESOURCE CORP ("RED-V")
Further to the Company's Release of May 24, 2002, Red Emerald is pleased to report the results of the visible gold interval intersected in diamond drill hole MW210 on the Midway property, Nevada.

Gold mineralization was observed over the lower 14 foot interval of hole MW210 resulting in an uncut interval of 132.2 ounces gold per ton over five feet. The hole was prematurely stopped in the mineralized zone due to drilling difficulties. The table below summarizes the arithmetic average of the mineralized interval, with values "cut" to a conservative 10 ounce level. Gold has been observed in several subsequent holes providing additional confidence to the continuity of the gold distribution in the Discovery Zone.
MW210 From To Length Grams/ Ounces/
(feet) tonne ton
Cut to 10 opt 112.0 154.0 42.0 39.25 1.26
Including (cut) 132.0 154.0 22.0 73.62 2.37
Including (uncut) 144.5 149.5 5.0 4112.7 132.2
Additionally, results have been received from reverse circulation drilling being conducted concurrently on the 121 Zone located northwest of the Discovery Zone. Hole MW214 was drilled 100 feet northeast of MW 120 and intersected a large interval of Tombstone rhyolite lithic tuff before intersecting the underlying Palmetto Formation argillite at 495 feet. Gold mineralization was intersected over a 90 foot interval as outlined in the table below. Hole MW216 was drilled 100 feet southwest of MW120 and did not return any significant results.
MW214 From To Length Grams/ Ounces/
(feet) tonne ton

including 565 580 15 7.20 0.23
Drilling indicates that the Discovery Zone and the 121 Zone may converge at depth or be parallel mineralized systems. Currently, there are no holes within the 370 foot distance that separates the two zones.

Red Emerald is encouraged by the results to date and is proceeding with a Phase Two program. The recommended second stage program will consist of additional confirmation drilling within the Discovery and 121 Zones, a preliminary resource and scoping study of these zones, and further exploration of other mineralized zones previously identified on the property. A third drill rig will be commissioned to advance the program in a timely manner.

Exploration of the Midway property is being conducted under the supervision of Geoffrey Goodall, P.Geo. of Global Geological Services Inc.
