Automated Flight Information Reporting System Enters Commercial Service in China

Shanghai Airlines ("SAL") has reported to AMA that its second afirs(TM)-equipped Boeing 767 has completed a successful entry into service on February 4, 2009 The maiden flight of the first system was from Shanghai to Saipan on December 27th,2008, and afirs(TM) system performed flawlessly. The second installation was completed at the Boeing China Modification Facility in Shanghai. Mr. Ding Xing Guo, Vice President of Flight Operations for SAL stated, "It is very important that our crews have continuous voice contact with our operations center to support each flight. The afirs system provides that continuous contact with a quality and clarity of the voice communications that is crystal clear".

WestJet announces record January load factor of 76.8 per cent

Airline reports a 10.3 per cent increase in revenue passenger miles

WestJet today announced strong January traffic results with a record January load factor of 76.8 per cent. Revenue passenger miles (RPM) increased 10.3 per cent year over year and capacity, measured in available seat miles (ASM), grew 9.4 per cent over the same period.

"We are pleased with our increased load factor for the month of January," commented Sean Durfy, WestJet President and CEO. "Our traffic results demonstrate the success of our efforts to continue to profitably grow. With over 35,000 more guests coming onboard this January compared to last, we are further penetrating all the markets we serve.

WestJet announces record December load factor

WestJet today announced December traffic results with a record load factor of 80.9 per cent for the month. Revenue passenger miles increased 12.8 per cent while capacity, measured in available seat miles, grew 10.6 per cent. In the month of December, over 90,000 additional guests flew with the airline than in December 2007.

"These are very strong results, particularly at a time when there remains some degree of uncertainty in many areas of the economy," said Sean Durfy, WestJet President and CEO. "Our results clearly demonstrate that our business model and strategy are set up to deliver shareholder value."

GOL Reports Operating Profit of R$ 61.2mm for 3Q08

GOL Linhas Aereas Inteligentes S.A. (NYSE: GOL and Bovespa: GOLL4), Brazil's low cost airline, today announced preliminary unaudited financial results for the third quarter of 2008 (3Q08). The following financial and operating information, unless otherwise indicated, is presented pursuant to US GAAP and in Brazilian Reais (R$) and comparisons refer to the third quarter of 2007 (3Q07). Additionally, financial statements summary in BR GAAP are made available at the end of this release. As part of the process to transition the Company's financial statements from US GAAP to IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards), beginning with 3Q08 results, the Company will initially report its consolidated earnings in US GAAP with financial statements reported according to IFRS is expected to be released until December 15, 2008.
