Interxion Provides Secure Data Service for Tŷ Hafan Hospice
LONDON, September 25th 2008 - Interxion, a leading European provider of data centres, today announced that it has installed a complimentary Secure Data Service (SDS) managed online back-up and restore solution at the Tŷ Hafan Children’s Hospice in South Wales. The Cardiff-based charity provides respite, palliative and end of life care to children and young people in Wales who suffer from life limiting conditions.
Tŷ Hafan’s valuable data assets are now safely stored in the SDS ‘Vault’ located in Interxion’s data centres. All data is instantly recoverable following any unforeseen data loss. Fully encrypted software now backs up Tŷ Hafan’s standard file systems, as well as providing ‘hot’ back-ups for the organisation’s Exchange database, safeguarding the security of confidential information about Tŷ Hafan’s residents, their families and other supporters.
“Improving the efficiency of the management of our IT means we no longer have to worry about losing valuable information,” said Alex Bruce, IT Manager at Tŷ Hafan. “There would be a huge loss commercially to the charity if we were to lose our valuable donor information. It is also very important that our data is encrypted and well protected when it is being transmitted and stored, especially that relating to the children in our care.”
“More and more types of organisations are recognizing that the secure back-up of information is critical to their survival,” said Greg McCulloch Managing Director Interxion UK. “We are pleased to have been able to provide one of our specialist solutions to support Tŷ Hafan so that they can channel all their energies into fund-raising and looking after the children in their care.”
