German inbound SMS numbers now available for corporates
Mobile messaging operator TynTec (www.tyntec.com) today announces the availability of German (e.g. +49) long numbers for inbound SMS services. These numbers can be used as an alternative to shortcodes by organisations dealing with high volumes of incoming SMS traffic.
Using these numbers organisations offering services in Germany can now set up a single regional 12 digit phone number to receive SMS traffic for applications such as voting, marketing or customer support.
TynTec’s long numbers, which are already available for Finland and the UK, can be used as a non-premium alternative to costly short codes as an incoming telephone number.
As well as offering a more cost-effective solution for number owners and callers, TynTec’s long numbers also have the advantage of being internationally available and can be retained for the long term. In addition, whereas short codes are often shared between a number of brands, TynTec’s long numbers are specific to a single organisation, creating more branding opportunities.
Michael Kowalzik, CEO of TynTec, said: “We’ve offered UK and Finland long numbers for some time now and they’ve been enthusiastically adopted by clients who want to offer a single, memorable inbound number for SMS.
“Short codes can be expensive, they don’t work internationally and as a brand, you don’t generally have ownership. Using our long numbers, you can create your own wholly-owned, cost effective, memorable inbound telephone destination.”
