For the first time, Mobile World TV is enabling real-time interaction with visitors to Mobile World Congress – powered by Palringo.

Simply by downloading the free Palringo application and joining the MWTV [Mobile World TV] group, Congress visitors open up a direct line to the producers and editors of Mobile World TV, enabling them to explain what they’re interested in this year, what they like (or what they don’t), send them a picture of something they’ve seen, or relate something they’ve heard… anything they like, in fact.

In between scheduled programmes, the Mobile World TV anchor will broadcast to the whole Congress about exciting news arriving into the studio this way, ensuring delegates are kept more informed than ever, by their own peers at the show.

Guy Daniels, director of content for Telecom TV, said: “We can’t know for certain what is going to catch people’s eye at this year’s Congress, or what they’ll be most interested in.  So, using Palringo will help to make the whole Mobile World TV experience far more interactive: delegates can tell us what’s going on at any time, anywhere in the Congress, meaning we can go and investigate the things they really want us to look at.”  As in previous years, Telecom TV produces Mobile World TV for the GSMA.

In a first of its own, Palringo will be demonstrating its rich messaging service at the Congress on an Android handset.  Palringo is the first multi-platform, multi-service (voice, picture, text-based, location/presence) - “rich” - messaging service that ‘works’ on any major mobile platform, and is already supported on BlackBerry, Windows Mobile, Symbian, Java and iPhone.  Visit Palringo in the UK Trade & Investment pavilion on the Avenida (AV26) for a demonstration.

In integrating location and maps into its rich messaging application last October, Palringo beat Google’s Latitude to the punch by several months.
