Attendees will benefit from this year’s dual EuroCACS and ISRM Conference

London, UK (11 July 2012): With many organisations facing increased monetary and time pressures, ISACA has responded by combining two of its major conferences. The three-day, inaugural event, taking place 10–12 September in Munich, Germany, will unite its European Computer Audit, Control and Security (CACS) and its Information Security and Risk Management (ISRM) conferences in one convenient setting.

By bringing together more than 50 speakers for more than 40 sessions, offering these conferences into a single event will enhance the experience for attendees and increase their return on investment. By bringing together security, audit and risk professionals, the event enables delegates to expand their professional network and meet with peers from connected disciplines.

Over the three days, attendees will gain insight into today’s most critical IT and business issues, giving them, and the organisations they represent, a competitive edge through the expansion of their skills. “EuroCACS is a great place for delegates to get the latest guidance on the issues that keep them awake at night. Attendees will learn valuable tips and solutions to add value to their enterprises,” said Peter Thompson, CISA, CRISC, information security consultant with a UK communication provider.

The highly interactive event will provide attendees the opportunity to interact with speakers and peers to discuss today’s IT-related topics. Sessions include: Audit Practices That Make an Impact, Improving IT Audit Performance, Securing Data, Solving IT and Business Issues, and IT Risk and Exposure Management. Delegates will be able to select the most appropriate sessions to address their needs in lively sessions, interactive panel discussions, hands-on participation and case studies from a variety of industries. The event also will include sessions at the end of each day, where speakers will review the day’s topics and answer questions.

Richard Stiennon, founder of ITHarvest, an independent analyst firm that researches 1,200 IT security vendors, will deliver a keynote discussion on “What makes the IT security industry tick?” According to Stiennon, “I will open the conference with an engaging presentation that examines Europe’s most daunting IT security threats. I’ll suggest ways to most effectively mitigate these risks and assist clients. Attendees will leave with an understanding of what can be learned from current cyber-threats. They will be fired up and ready for the three days of intensive education.”

Roman Weishäupl, former global innovation advisor at TrendONE, and I one of today’s trend spotters, will close the conference with a thought-provoking session addressing the future of IT. According to Weishäupl, “I plan to send delegates back to their day jobs with ideas about the direction that IT is heading and how innovation shapes the world. We will offer the opportunity to reflect on the information gained at the conference and help attendees stay ahead of the curve.”
