Thursday 20th November 2008, Toyota Motor Europe (TME) and CERTPOINT Systems™, a leading global provider of corporate training software and solutions have been awarded the prestigious Silver Award in the “Best e-Learning project in securing widespread adoption” category by e-Learning Age. The ceremony took place at the Park Lane Hotel in London on 6th November 2008.

The award submission presented the complex challenges that Toyota successfully addressed when implementing its Learning Management System to the company’s expansive retailer network. It also focused on the company’s process improvements.

Guy Kerjouan, Senior Manager, Toyota Retail Academy commented: “The award is a fantastic honour and we are delighted. It is recognition of a complex rollout across Europe where collaboration between Toyota teams and business partners as well as the ability for local regions to adapt, assured the success of the programme. We worked closely with CERTPOINT Systems to implement a flexible learning management solution, named Toyota Connect, to support our training requirements across Europe in over 30 languages and markets quickly and efficiently.”

Kerjouan continued: “The main benefit of our LMS is that it provides the glue to bind autonomous dealerships into a community. This strengthens our corporate image and improves our brand awareness through a consistent message flavoured with local market enhancements. The net effect is that customer satisfaction is improving because retailers have access to time sensitive information faster.  Adoption of the new technology would have not been possible without the continued support of Toyota’s National Marketing and Sales Companies (NMSCs), the regional champions and the different teams that have been part of the Learning Technology group since the start of this project.

Ara Ohanian, CEO, Founder and President of CERTPOINT Systems Inc. added: “The Toyota Motor Europe case study is an excellent example of how learning can be delivered at all levels and maximise talent within the organisation. The award is a direct result of a highly motivated team that strives to deliver the best possible results and we are thrilled to be recognised by the judging panel at e-Learning Age.”

There are now 65 000 of people actively using Toyota Connect and a further 5 000 are expected to connect to the system by 2009.
