Ramsés Gallego, security strategist and evangelist for Dell Software, will discuss emerging trend in technology and threats, as well as BYOD and moving beyond identity management at ISACA’s European Computer Audit, Control and Security (CACS)/Information Security and Risk Management (ISRM) Conference in London, England, on 16-18 September 2013.

In his presentations, titled “BYOD: Invitation or Rebellion" and "Beyond Identity Management: Welcome to the World of Access Governance", Gallego will cover:

·         the challenges presented by BYOD and how to combat them

·         the risk culture associated with BYOD

·         maintaining a level of commitment with stakeholders about protecting the two most important assets of a company: people and data

·         who is touching my data?

·         identifying how access governance aligns with COBIT 5

He will also take part in a panel discussion entitled "A Look to the Future of Information Security - Trends, Technologies & Threats" which will be chaired by David Lacey.

'The time has come to consider additional dimensions into the BYOD space. It has to become about adding skills, capabilities, ethics and moral into the equation," said Gallego who is also an ISACA International Vice President. 'There has not been a better time to be in security since, suddenly, it became a combined discipline on trust, governance, assurance and reliability. I have attended many conferences in my career. Very few have enlightened me as the ISACA ones, providing practical guidance on trends and emerging technologies and things to consider back home."

The 2013 EuroCACS/ISRM conference is hosted by ISACA—a nonprofit global association serving more than 110,000 IT governance, assurance, risk and security professionals. Themed “New Era, New Edge,” the conference will feature panels and facilitated discussions led by presenters and workshop leaders from companies such as CISCO, Deutsche Post AG, Caixa Econmica (Brazil), Dell Software, Deloitte, HSBC, Ziraat Bankasi (Turkey), CA Technologies, Morgan Stanley, Information Commissioner’s Office (UK), Duane Morris and many others.

Assurance, risk and security perspectives will be presented in four tracks that cover Consumerisation, Information, Technology and Delivery. Additionally, in forum discussions steered by audience interaction, industry leaders will share strategic and organizational approaches for top IT concerns from the business perspective in IT system audit/assurance, program governance, data security, and risk management focusing on connected “smart” buildings.

Pre- and post-conference workshops offer hands-on training in critical areas such as IT risk governance and assessment, audits and data analytics, BYOD, cloud computing, privacy requirements and COBIT 5, a business framework for the governance and management of enterprise IT.

Registration for EuroCACS/ISRM is US $2,100 for ISACA members and US $2,340 for nonmembers. Attendees can earn up to 39 continuing professional education (CPE) hours. Additional details, registration and hotel information on EuroCACS/ISRM are at www.isaca.org/CACS-ISRMEU2013.
