Enterprise Random Password Manager Recognized for Securing Highly Sensitive Data in Government Organizations
(Los Angeles, CA – Nov. 19, 2012) – Lieberman Software Corporation today announced that Enterprise Random Password Manager™ (ERPM) has been named a finalist for Best Privileged Access Management Solution in the 2012 GSN Homeland Security Awards. This is the third consecutive year that ERPM has been recognized as one of the industry's top solutions for securely managing access to powerful privileged accounts in government IT environments.
The finalists were selected by a panel of objective judges, according to Jacob Goodwin, Editor-in-Chief of Government Security News.
"We received an extraordinary number of entries," Goodwin said. "We have carefully reviewed each entry and are now very pleased to announce an exceptionally strong field of finalists."
ERPM automatically locates privileged accounts throughout the cross-platform enterprise, frequently changes each account’s password to a unique and complex value and deploys the password changes wherever they are used in the data center. In doing so, ERPM helps protect agencies against unauthorized users and malicious programs compromising a privileged password, and using it to leapfrog from system to system and gain anonymous access to sensitive data. ERPM also features unique visualization dashboards providing comprehensive intelligence on all managed identities and systems, a capability developed at the request of top government agencies.
"Government and private-sector regulations require that organizations protect themselves by ensuring that no one has access to confidential data they don’t need. Federal government agencies in particular should be aware that former employees and contractors with knowledge of the agency’s privileged passwords – and current employees and contractors with unmonitored super-user access – pose a significant threat," explained Philip Lieberman, president, Lieberman Software.
ERPM provides the accountability of showing precisely who on the IT staff had access to data, at what time and for what purpose. This information can be provided to security auditors to verify compliance with regulatory mandates such as CAG-8, FISMA, FIPS and others.
For more than 10 years, federal, state and local government organizations, including the U.S. Army and other branches of the U.S. Department of Defense, have relied on Lieberman Software’s reliable, proven privileged identity management products.
All winners will be announced -- and celebrated -- at a gala dinner GSN is hosting at the Washington, DC Convention Center on the evening of Thursday, Nov. 29, 2012. Edward Tyler, Publisher of GSN, invited government officials from federal, state and local levels -- as well as industry executives from across the country -- to join GSN at the awards ceremony.
