Leap Wireless International, Inc. (LEAP), a leading provider of innovative and value-driven wireless communications services, announced today that it has completed the previously announced transactions to exchange spectrum in various markets with T-Mobile USA (T-Mobile), Cook Inlet/VS GSM VII PCS LLC, a joint venture between T-Mobile and Cook Inlet in which T-Mobile has a non-controlling majority interest (Cook Inlet), and Leap's non-controlled, majority-owned venture Savary Island Wireless, LLC (Savary Island).

TeraGo Initiates Strategic Review

TeraGo Inc. ( TGO ) (www.terago.ca) today announced that its Board of Directors has initiated a review process to identify, examine and consider a range of strategic options available to the Company with a view to enhancing shareholder value.

The review was initiated following the recent amendments of the Telecommunications Act (Canada) which removed foreign ownership restrictions on telecommunications companies with less than a 10% market share in Canada, which applies to TeraGo.

Second Quarter Operating Highlights

  • Revenues increased 4% to $8.1 million during the second quarter 2012 compared to the first quarter 2012 and increased 23% compared to the second quarter 2011.
  • Adjusted EBITDA profitability, excluding non-recurring expenses and net costs associated with the small cell rooftop asset platform, was $1.3 million for the second quarter 2012 compared to $1.4 million for the first quarter 2012 and $1.1 million for the second quarter 2011.

Frontier Communications to Carry Pac-12 Networks

FiOS® TV from Frontier Subscribers Will Enjoy Pac-12 Regional Sports Favorites When the Networks Launch on August 15, 2012

Frontier Communications today announced an agreement to provide the Pac-12 Networks to FiOS TV customers in the Pacific Northwest starting August 15, when the new networks launch. FiOS TV from Frontier will carry hundreds of live events and other specialty content including 35 football games and more than 130 men’s basketball games for fans of Washington and Oregon Pac-12 Conference teams.

Akamai Reports Second Quarter 2012 Financial Results

  • Second quarter revenue of $331 million, up 20 percent year-over-year
  • GAAP net income of $44 million, down 8 percent year-over-year; or $0.24 per diluted share, down 4 percent year-over-year
  • Normalized net income* of $78 million, up 18 percent year-over-year; or $0.43 per diluted share, up 23 percent year-over-year

Akamai Technologies, Inc.
