LONDON, UK – 17 January 2012 – Hitachi Consulting UK today announced that Experian FootFall, a market leading provider of visitor analytics, is launching its next generation software solution, unveiled at the National Retail Federation Annual Convention and Expo in New York. Built by Hitachi Consulting UK, the innovative new Site Analytics cloud-based software solution represents a major step change for retailers, delivering site and store-network performance measurement.
As one of the most sophisticated solutions on the market, Site Analytics provides Experian FootFall’s clients with a 360 degree view of their retail site performance to help pin point priorities of action, enabling them to focus on the areas that need improvement, and forecast performance in their stores.
The solution was designed and built by Hitachi Consulting UK using Microsoft business intelligence software, including Microsoft SQL Server, Microsoft SharePoint Server 2010, Microsoft .NET connection software, and Visual Studio 2010. Hitachi Consulting UK tested the product design on over 13 billion rows of data and, amongst other tests, automated the creation and email distribution of more than 30,000 individual reports within the rapid timescales expected of Experian FootFall’s clients.
“We wanted to empower our customers to generate unique report configurations as needed,” said Mike Roberts, Director of Product Management and Development, Experian. “We also wanted the system to be easy to use and allow clients to either self-administer the system if they wished or have the option of using us for support,” added Roberts. “Most importantly, we saw an opportunity to use our understanding of count performance as a launch pad for providing much broader insight around site performance. Hitachi Consulting has deep sector know-how in the retail arena. Their consultants have a high level of competence in both Microsoft technologies as well as the retail market, which gave us confidence, particularly with regards to security issues. Hitachi Consulting also has the ability to seamlessly integrate on-shore and off-shore resources to deliver projects on-time and to-budget, which was also important to us.”
The new solution provides Experian FootFall with first mover advantage in the highly competitive retail industry, and Experian FootFall clients are able to gain a myriad of benefits including, improved store profitability, better conversion rates, accurate identification of staff to customer ratios for optimum customer service, as well as the ability to track the effectiveness of marketing campaigns, streamline operations in every inch of the store and unlock latent store potential.
“Hitachi Consulting successfully tackled an extremely complex project,” added Roberts. “They have provided us with expert guidance and advice in delivering our next generation Experian FootFall solution which re-affirms our position as the leading site analytics company globally, supports customer requirements and gives us a global platform to support our continued international growth.”
The first release of this software solution is available to customers globally from January 2012.
