Solutions From 3com Chosen By PSA Peugeot Citroen

Auto Manufacturer Wants More Value from its Networking Dollar, without any Performance or Functionality Compromise

September 4, 2009 -- 3Com Corporation (Nasdaq: COMS) today announced an important new relationship with PSA Peugeot Citroen in France. PSA Peugeot Citroen, which has 5 percent of the worldwide car market, will use H3C enterprise networking solutions from 3Com as a significant part of its LAN infrastructure. PSA Peugeot Citroen expects the H3C solution to help reduce network installation and usage costs while improving network performance for new applications.

“With our H3C enterprise networking solutions, 3Com provides high-performance products that offer a rapid return on investment through great price/performance, strong manageability and low energy usage,” said Bernard Etchebarne, 3Com General Manager, EMEA South. “3Com’s H3C switches are also the most energy-efficient on the market, using up to 60 percent less power than competitive networking solutions. This supports PSA Peugeot Citroën’s ‘green’ objectives. Regarding emissions of carbon dioxide, the main greenhouse gas, PSA Peugeot Citroën is the most efficient carmaker in Europe, with nearly one million vehicles emitting less than 130 g/km of CO2 in 2008. Today, roughly one in three vehicles sold by the Group emits less than 130 g/km of CO2.”

In May 2009, 3Com announced the availability of its portfolio of high-performance H3C networking solutions worldwide through selected channel partners.
