Wi-LAN Initiates Litigation Against Motorola, RIM and UTStarCom

Wi-LAN Inc. (\"Wi-LAN\" or the \"Company\") (TSX: WIN.TO), a leading technology innovation and licensing company, today announced that it has initiated litigation in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas, Marshall Division against Motorola, Inc., Research in Motion Corporation, Research In Motion, Ltd. and UTStarCom, Inc. Wi-LAN claims these companies have infringed and continue to infringe Wi-LAN\'s U.S. patents RE37,802 and 5,282,222 by making and/or selling products including mobile handheld devices and other equipment.

Wi-LAN will be represented in this action by McKool Smith, a leading U.S. law firm specializing in intellectual property litigation. McKool Smith has successfully defended the patent rights of many high profile companies throughout the U.S. and has particular expertise in the Eastern District of Texas.

LabCorp(R) and Vanda Pharmaceuticals Collaborate to Offer Genetic Tests

Laboratory Corporation of America® Holdings (LabCorp®) (NYSE: LH), one of the world’s leading clinical trials and genetic testing laboratories, and Vanda Pharmaceuticals Inc. (Nasdaq: VNDA), a biopharmaceutical company focused on the development and commercialization of clinical-stage product candidates for central nervous system disorders, today announced an exclusive alliance to develop and commercialize a series of diagnostic tests for genetic markers identified by Vanda in the course of its clinical development of Fanapta™ (iloperidone), a novel atypical antipsychotic drug candidate under FDA review for the treatment of schizophrenia. Financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

The data included healthcare and business related data, as well as personal identifiable information (stolen Social Security Numbers). This data is part of the premium offering that the cybercriminals operating the Crimeservers were selling to the highest bidder online.
