Fission Uranium Corp.: Step-Out Hits 85.5m of Mineralization Including 18.93m of Off-Scale Radioactivity at R390 Zone

FISSION URANIUM CORP. (TSX VENTURE:FCU)(OTCQX:FCUUF)(FRANKFURT:2FU) ("Fission" or "the Company") the Operator, and its Joint Venture partner Alpha Minerals Inc. are pleased to announce partial results of its first hole of the summer drill season, testing the western extension of R390E zone. Hole PLS13-072 (drilling still in progress), has so far returned a broad 85.5m interval (62.0m - 147.5m) of variably radioactive mineralization including a total of 18.93m of off-scale (>9999 cps) radioactivity in numerous narrower intervals throughout.

Cigar Lake Receives Operating Licence


Cameco (TSX:CCO)(NYSE:CCJ) announced that the CNSC has granted a uranium mining licence authorizing construction and operation of the Cigar Lake project. The licence will be valid from July 1, 2013 to June 30, 2021.

"We are pleased with this decision," said Tim Gitzel, Cameco's president and CEO. "This licence will allow Cameco to advance the Cigar Lake project into production and shows Canada's nuclear regulator has confidence in our team."

As planned, we expect to begin jet boring in ore this summer, with the first packaged pounds expected in the fourth quarter of this year.

Alpha Minerals Hits 20.5m of 8.57% U3O8, including 9.4m of 17.78% U3O8 at R00E Zone, Patterson Lake South, Athabasca Basin

Alpha Minerals Inc. (TSX VENTURE:AMW)(FRNAKFURT:E2GA) ("Alpha" or "the Company") and its 50% Joint Venture partner Fission Uranium Corp. (formerly Fission Energy Corp.) are pleased to report assay results from three drill holes within zone R00E at their Patterson Lake South ("PLS") property, and two drill holes on regional targets.

Results confirm and extend near surface, high-grade mineralization at the R00E zone. Drill hole PLS13-059 returned 20.5m at 8.57% U3O8, including 9.5m @ 17.78% U3O8. With a Grade x Thickness (GT) value of 175.7 for this interval, this is now the R00E zone's best mineralized hole to date, surpassing hole PLS13-043 which intersected 22.0m at 4.8% U3O8 (see news release dated May 16, 2013).
