Anfield Discovers New High Grade Deposit at Tres Juanes and Intersects 18.4 Meters Grading 3.05% Nickel in Step-Out Hole at Sechol, at Its Mayaniquel Project, Guatemala
Anfield Nickel Corp. (TSX VENTURE: ANF) ("Anfield") is pleased to announce that another significant high-grade nickel laterite deposit, Tres Juanes Sur, has been discovered at its 100% owned Mayaniquel nickel project located in eastern Guatemala. Initial results from the Tres Juanes Sur target are highlighted by holes TJS10-005 containing 16.3 meters grading 1.75% nickel including 8.0 meters averaging 2.39% nickel, and TJS10-013 that intersected 22.3 meters averaging 1.68% nickel including 7.3 meters grading 2.34% nickel.
Drilling at the Tres Juanes group of targets has now revealed significant high-grade mineralization at both deposits drilled to date (Tres Juanes Norte and Tres Juanes Sur) with exploration now underway at the third target Tres Juanes Rio.
Exceptional assays continue to be received from Tres Juanes Norte where results from 225 holes are now available. Recent highlights include holes TJN10-158 that intersected 22.9 meters grading 1.71% nickel including 15.3 meters grading 2.01% nickel, TJN10-168 that intersected 35.5 meters grading 1.51% nickel including 8.4 meters averaging 2.20% nickel and TJN10-190 that intersected 16.4 meters grading 2.10% nickel.
At Sechol - Inicio, drilling continues to expand known nickel resources into previously undrilled areas while also completing in-fill drilling to support upgrading areas of the existing mineral resource from the Inferred to Indicated category. New results available from Inicio are highlighted by step-out holes SIN10-057 that intersected 29.50 meters grading 2.31% nickel including 18.4 meters averaging 3.05% nickel and SIN10-084 that intersected 18.5 meters grading 1.78% nickel including 12.2 meters averaging 2.09% nickel. Exceptional infill holes at Sechol - Inicio include SIN10-102 that intersected 19.5 meters grading 1.90% nickel including 11.4 meters averaging 2.44% nickel and SIN10-105 that intersected 15.5 meters grading 1.70% nickel including 8.7 meters averaging 2.21% nickel. Significant nickel mineralization has also been identified in a previously untested portion of the Inicio laterite to the north (Seococ). Holes SIN10-092, SIN10-097, and SIN10-104 highlight this new discovery/extension to Inicio resource. SIN10-092 intersected 14.2 meters averaging 1.79% nickel, SIN10-097 intersected 14.4 meters averaging 1.65% nickel including 10.5 meters grading 1.86% nickel, and SIN10-104 intersected 1.49% nickel over 17.7 meters including 7.9 meters averaging 1.97% nickel.
The limits to the Chiis deposit have now been identified with one rig remaining to complete infill work to elevate the bulk of resources to the Indicated category. Recent intercepts are highlighted by holes NCC10-265 that intersected 13.9 meters averaging 1.62% nickel including 7.3 meters grading 2.08% nickel, and NCC10-279 that intersected 7.3 meters grading 1.65% nickel including 4.3 meters averaging 2.14% nickel. The drill program at Chiis has defined a deposit that underlies an area approximately 1,700 meters long by 1,500 meters wide.
Eight drill rigs are operating on the Mayaniquel project, three each at Sechol - Poza Azul and Sechol - Inicio, and one each at Chiis and Tres Juanes Rio. To date, 1,390 holes totaling 29,500 meters have been drilled.
The Mayaniquel project comprises mineral exploration licenses totaling approximately 60,000 hectares in the nickel laterite belt surrounding Lake Izabal, 120 kilometers northeast of Guatemala City. Anfield's mineral exploration licenses lie adjacent to the "Fenix Project" owned by Compania Guatemalteca de Niquel S.A., a subsidiary of HudBay Minerals, Inc.
On September 20, 2010, Anfield announced that it had received an interim, independent NI 43-101 compliant mineral resource estimate for the Mayaniquel project. The mineral resource estimate is shown in the table below and only includes drilling results through August 2010:

These drill results do not differentiate limonite, transition or saprolite
zone mineralization. A 0.8% Ni cutoff was used to determine mineralized
sample intervals, with one internal sub-cutoff sample allowed per interval.
Andrew Carstensen, CPG, Vice President, Exploration for Anfield, is the Qualified Person as defined by NI 43-101 for the Mayaniquel Project and has reviewed and approved the contents of this news release. The quality assurance/quality control program is monitored by independent consultant Dr. Bruce M. Davis, FAusIMM. Logging and sampling are completed at Anfield's secure facility located at the project. Drill core is mechanically split on site with sample preparation completed at a facility at Anfield's exploration compound. Samples are prepared in accordance with ALS Chemex's standards with pulps subsequently shipped to their laboratory in Vancouver, Canada for X-Ray Fluorescence Spectroscopy (XRF) analysis, the common analytical technique used in nickel laterite exploration. Quality from the on-site sample preparation lab is monitored by an independent, rigorous QA/QC program. Anfield also inserts standards, blanks and duplicates selected on a random basis into the sample stream and sends 5% of the sample pulps to a check laboratory in Perth, Australia.
