Anfield Intersects 33 Meters Grading 1.94% Nickel at its Mayaniquel Project, Guatemala
Anfield Nickel Corp. (TSX VENTURE: ANF) ("Anfield") is pleased to announce new results from its ongoing drill program at its 100% owned Mayaniquel nickel laterite project located in northeastern Guatemala. The results are highlighted by hole NCA10-240 that intersected 33 meters grading 1.94% nickel, including 25 meters averaging 2.25% nickel at the newly discovered West Zone at Nueva Caledonia, contiguous to and north of Hudbay Mineral Inc's Fenix Project's mineral resources.
The newly discovered West Zone comprises three principal zones, two underlying north-south trending ridges and a third oriented in an east-west direction and contiguous with the Fenix Project. The current drilling program at Nueva Caledonia has now been completed and all assay results have been received for the 286 holes drilled.
Results from the drill program show nickel mineralization at Nueva Caledonia is structurally controlled with several zones of thicker mineralized laterite clearly evident (previously reported as the Central, Northeast, Southeast, and Southwest zones - see map). These zones are generally interconnected and, in aggregate, are quite extensive. For instance, the Southeast, Southwest and Central Zones connect to form a single northwesterly trending deposit 2,200 meters long and up to 900 meters wide, while the Northeast Zone measures 1,250 meters north to south and 300 meters east to west.
The in-fill drilling program at Nueva Concepcion has also been completed while drilling at the neighbouring Chiis deposit continues to define and expand the known resources. The Nueva Concepcion deposit underlies an area 1,500 meters long averaging 500 meters in width, with a higher grade Southern Zone approximately 600 meters long by 300 meters wide. Nickel mineralization at the Chiis deposit has been expanded to an area 1,500 meters in length by approximately 1,200 meters in width. The heart of the Chiis deposit measures 1,000 meters by 500 meters with mineralized intersections exceeding 15 to 20 meters in thickness. Drilling is currently focused on expanding the deposit to the south and west.
During the past two weeks, drilling commenced at two new areas, the Sechol - Inicio deposit and Tres Juanes Norte, an untested drill target located a few kilometers to the east. The program at Sechol - Inicio is designed to upgrade the existing NI 43-101 mineral resource estimate through in-fill and twin hole drilling as well as extend the known resource through step-out drilling. The Tres Juanes Norte target has been mapped as a large nickel laterite occurrence measuring approximately 2,500 meters long by 800 meters wide. The drill program at Tres Juanes Norte is expected to include 340 holes and take three months to complete.
This news release includes drill results from holes NCA10-179 to NCA10-286 at Nueva Caledonia, NCO10-114 to NCO10-167 at Nueva Concepcion and holes NCC10-40 to NCC10-122 (NCC10-121 pending) at the Chiis deposit. Significant intercepts from the latest drilling results are shown in the table below. Maps showing the location of the drill holes are attached to this news release (drill holes are currently drilled on a 100 meter by 100 meter grid pattern, except at Nueva Concepcion and the core of the Chiis deposit where in-fill drilling is being completed on nominal 70 meter centers):

These drill results do not differentiate limonite, transition or saprolite
zone mineralization. A 0.8% Ni cutoff was used to determine mineralized
sample intervals, with one internal sub-cutoff sample allowed per interval.
Seven drill rigs are currently operating at the Mayaniquel Project, three each at Chiis and Tres Juanes Norte and one at Sechol - Inicio. To date, 864 holes totaling 19,712 meters have been drilled on the Mayaniquel Project.
The Mayaniquel project comprises mineral exploration licenses totaling approximately 80,000 hectares in the nickel laterite belt surrounding Lake Izabal, 120 kilometers northeast of Guatemala City. Anfield's mineral exploration licenses lie adjacent to the "Fenix Project" owned by Compania Guatemalteca de Niquel S.A., a subsidiary of HudBay Minerals Inc.
On April 9, 2009, an independent NI 43-101 mineral resource estimate was prepared on the Mayaniquel project as shown in the table below:

In January 2010, Anfield initiated a 44,000 meter drill program at the project. The program is focused on expanding current NI 43-101 mineral resources at the Sechol and Nueva Concepcion/Chiis deposits and delineating new resources at the Nueva Caledonia, Tres Juanes and San Lucas target areas.
Andrew Carstensen, CPG, Vice President, Exploration for Anfield, is the Qualified Person as defined by NI 43-101 for the Mayaniquel Project and has reviewed and approved the contents of this news release. The quality assurance/quality control program is monitored by independent consultant Dr. Bruce M. Davis, FAusIMM. Logging and sampling are completed at Anfield's secure facility located at the project. Drill core is mechanically split on site with sample preparation completed at a newly installed facility at Anfield's exploration compound. Samples are prepared in accordance with ALS Chemex's standards with pulps subsequently shipped to their laboratory in Vancouver, Canada for X-Ray Fluorescence Spectroscopy (XRF) analysis, the common analytical technique used in nickel laterite exploration. Quality from the on-site sample preparation lab is monitored by an independent, rigorous QA/QC program. Anfield also inserts standards, blanks and duplicates selected on a random basis into the sample stream and sends 5% of the sample pulps to a check laboratory in Perth, Australia.
