Hana Mining Reports Results at Five New Holes at Ghanzi Copper-Silver Project, Botswana (2.4% Cu and 7.3g/t Ag over 15 meters including 8.50% Cu and 32.4 g/t Ag over 3.0 Meters)

Hana Mining Ltd. (TSX VENTURE: HMG)(FRANKFURT: 4LH) (the "Company") is pleased to report new results at its sediment-hosted Ghanzi Copper-Silver Project in Botswana. Five reverse circulation holes, HA-35-R to HA-39-R, were drilled on the north limb of a syncline at Zone 6 and along strike of mineralization intersected in RC holes announced in a press release dated November 24, 2008. With these new holes the mineralization at Zone 6 now occurs along a 1700 meter strike length.

Intercepts reported are intersection length and are estimated to be 70% or more of true width. Drill sections and a 3D model can be viewed at http://www.corebox.net/properties/ghanzi/ or by following a link on the Company's website.

These holes were designed to test the target horizon below weakly mineralized holes HA-13 to 15-R as well as to test strike continuity to the southwest. Hole HA-35-R was collared 200 meters southwest and along strike of HA-12-R that returned 24.0 meters grading 1.00% Cu and less than 2.0 g/t Ag at a vertical depth of 75 meters. HA-35-R returned 15.0 meters grading 2.40% Cu and 7.3 g/t Ag at a vertical depth of 90 meters. Within this intercept was a high grade value of 8.50% Cu and 32.4 g/t Ag. Holes HA-37-R and HA-39-R also tested below weakly mineralized, shallow intercepts in holes HA-14-R and HA-15-R, respectively. HA-39-R returned 3.0 meters grading 1.28% Cu and 10.1 g/t Ag at a vertical depth of 162 meters. These results show a general increase in grade with depth at Zone 6. Results for 4 more holes drilled along an additional 600 meter strike length are pending.

The south limb of the fold has not yet been tested at Zone 6. The Zone 6 horizon is the same as the well mineralized horizon delineated along a 2,000 meter strike length at Zone 5, 35 kilometers southwest (See press releases dated October 15, 2008 and January 19, 2009). The prospective horizon has been repeated by folding along northeast trending axes.

Quality Assurance/Quality Control

Hana has implemented an industry-standard QA/QC program. A 35-40 kilogram sample is collected from the cyclone discharge at 1 meter intervals for both RC and percussion drill holes. The sample is then split 75/25; 75% of the sample is archived and the other 25% provides material for analysis. Three meter composite samples from 3 successive intervals are collected from the split of each 1 meter interval. The composited sample is submitted for analysis and the 75%-split is reserved for more detailed 1 meter follow-up sampling and analysis of mineralized intervals. All samples are double bagged, sealed and transported in secured wooden crates and shipped to Scientific Services Laboratory in Cape Town, South Africa. Standards, blanks and duplicates are inserted into the sample stream for RC samples.
