ENERGY VISIONS INC. REPORTS ON SUCCESSFUL LAUNCH OF PURE ENERGY’S NEW XL™ RECHARGEABLE ALKALINE BATTERY

TORONTO, Ontario, December 11, 2003 – Energy Visions Inc. (“EVI”) (TSX Venture Exchange (“TSXV”) “EVI.S” and NASD: OTCBB: "EGYV") announces the successful introduction of the new XL™ rechargeable alkaline battery (“XL™”) by its subsidiary Pure Energy Visions Inc. (“Pure Energy”). XL™ provides 80% more service life than the original rechargeable alkaline (“RAM™”) battery sold by Pure Energy. "We are extremely pleased with the reception XL™ AA and AAA size batteries have received in the marketplace,” said Jeff Chalmers, Vice President, Sales for Pure Energy. “We have now taken orders from some of Canada’s top retail stores. “

“Taking innovative new products like XL™ to the marketplace is an excellent example of executing our strategic plan,” stated Dr. Phil Whiting, President of Energy Ventures Inc. (Canada), and Pure Energy. “XL™ will be an important stepping stone to our expansion into the US and European markets for this and future products and to the development of new OEM applications such as cordless phones, emergency lighting and motorized toys, opportunities that were not previously available to us.”

In its first cycle XL™ delivers competitive service life to leading single use alkaline batteries. However, XL™ batteries can be recharged 50 to 500 (or more) times, depending on the frequency of recharging resulting in substantial savings for consumers and reduced environmental impact. Assume a portable CD player is played for 1 hour a day for 2 years. Using single-use alkaline batteries would cost the user approximately Cdn. $240 in batteries during this time. Using XL™ and recharging when the batteries are fully drained would use only Cdn. $15.00 worth of batteries. Even fewer XL™ batteries would be needed if the batteries were recharged more frequently.

XL™ comes fully charged and ready to use and offers an extended 7 year shelf life, as compared to 2 months or less for Nickel Cadmium and Nickel Metal Hydride rechargeable batteries. XL™ batteries do not contain toxic Cadmium (a metal used in Nickel-Cadmium batteries) and can also be recharged at any time without suffering from the “memory effect” problem inherent with Nickel-Cadmium batteries.

About Energy Visions Inc.: EVI develops and commercializes advanced battery and direct methanol fuel cell technologies and products. EVI recently acquired a major interest in Pure Energy Inc. whose subsidiary, Pure Energy Visions Inc., manufactures and markets rechargeable and single-use alkaline batteries globally sold under the “Pure Energy”, XL™ and “Pure Power” labels and to private label customers worldwide.
