In a series of live web casts, the biopharmaceutical industry’s leading Clinical Technology Organization will examine the practical application of technology to capture Patient Reported Outcomes. ClinPhone will present several online, interactive sessions to provide sponsors with an opportunity to learn from their extensive experience in over 120 studies involving Electronic Patient Diary (EPD) applications. The webinars will be delivered in November to audiences around the world on the following dates:

13th November 2003: 10-10.30 am GMT
14th November 2003: 11-11.30 am EST (4:00-4:30 pm GMT)
17th November 2003: 2-2.30 pm GMT (9:00-9:30 EST)
18th November 2003: 2-2.30 pm EST

These 30-minute sessions will be delivered by ClinPhone’s Product Development Director Dr. Bill Byrom in the UK and by ClinPhone’s Director of Strategic Business Development David Stein in the United States. Both have published articles on the use of Interactive Voice Response (IVR) and handheld devices in collecting patient data and are acknowledged experts in electronic Patient Reported Outcomes (ePRO).

Commenting on the purpose of the webinars David Stein said, “There is no doubt that electronic diaries greatly improve the quality of patient reported data. However, less than one out of every twenty patient diaries is captured electronically. Through these web casts, we hope to provide Sponsors with practical information to help them plan and design effective ePRO studies.”

The webinars will compare and contrast telephone-based patient diary solutions, electronic device applications and paper diaries. The sessions will also examine how electronic diary technologies have resolved many regulatory issues and the concerns that remain for the agencies. Additionally, the webinars will present Patient Direct, ClinPhone’s IVR diary solution and overview its key features and properties.
