FedEx Further Expands its Environmentally-Friendly Vehicle Fleet With Order of 51 New Azure Dynamics Hybrid Electric Delivery Vans

Establishing First FedEx All-Hybrid Facility
FedEx Express, a subsidiary of FedEx Corp. (NYSE: FDX), today announced it will purchase 51 additional gasoline-electric hybrid vehicles from Azure Dynamics Corporation (TSX: AZD). The FedEx fleet of hybrid electric and electric vehicles will total 325 when all 51 hybrid step-vans are delivered during November and December of 2009. Most of the new FedEx gasoline-electric vehicles will be put into service at a Bronx, N.Y., station, making it the first FedEx all-hybrid facility with about 100 trucks.

"Even during a challenging fiscal year, FedEx has continued to make investments in hybrid electric and electric vehicles a priority because of the long-term value in vehicle technologies that reduce fuel costs and pollution," said John Formisano, vice president of Global Vehicles, FedEx Express. "FedEx now operates seven different hybrid or electric truck models around the globe, demonstrating that commercial delivery vans can reduce pollution and increase efficiency without any sacrifice in performance and durability."

Kandi Announces That Its Electric Powered COCO Vehicle Has Met Requirements to Receive Tax Credits in the US; Anticipates This Will Spur US Sales

Kandi Technologies, Corp. (NASDAQ:KNDI ), a China-based leader in the design and manufacture of electric powered vehicles, announced today it has received a letter from the US Department of The Treasury notifying the Company that its low speed electric vehicle, the Kandi "COCO" convertible (Kandi KD08E), has met the requirements of the Qualified Plug-in Electric Vehicle Credit as a Qualified Plug-in Electric Vehicle. Consequently, qualifying purchasers of this vehicle will receive a tax credit in the amount of $4,435.

Simultaneously, the Company announced that the KD08E also has been determined by the Oklahoma Tax Commission to be a qualified electric vehicle for which qualifying purchasers can receive a tax credit amounting to 50% of the purchase cost.

Oshkosh Defense Selected to Produce U.S. Armys FMTV, Receives First Delivery Order for $280.9 Million

Oshkosh Defense, a division of Oshkosh Corporation (NYSE: OSK), has been awarded a contract by the U.S. Army Tank-automotive and Armaments Command Life Cycle Management Command (TACOM LCMC) for the U.S. Army’s Family of Medium Tactical Vehicles (FMTV) rebuy program.

Coachmen Wins Liability Portion of Lawsuit Against Crane Composites, Inc.

Coachmen Industries, Inc. (NYSE: COA) today announced that it and four of its RV operating subsidiaries (Coachmen) received a favorable verdict against Crane Composites, Inc. f/k/a Kemlite for breach of contract and multiple warranty claims arising from the sale of defective sidewall material to Coachmen.

All of the counts alleged in the original complaint were found in favor of Coachmen. The remaining phase of the trial will determine the amount of damages payable on this liability judgment. In its complaint, Coachmen has asserted claims for warranty-related expenses in excess of $19 million and total potential claims of over $85 million.

New Flyer Receives Bus Orders Valued at over US $1 Billion

New Flyer Industries Inc. (TSX:NFI.UN) ("New Flyer" or the "Company"), the leading manufacturer of heavy-duty transit vehicles in Canada and the United States, announced today that it has received orders, including firm orders and options, over the last three months for up to 1,482 buses (2,412 equivalent production units or "EUs") for a combined value of US $1.004 Billion. Of these orders, 1,294 buses (2,224 EUs) are new orders and 188 buses (188 EUs) are exercised options. These orders, when combined with previously reported orders, bring the total number of buses ordered to date in 2008 to 4,815 (6,690 EUs) representing a total of US $2.78 billion in sales.
