TeleCommunication Systems Receives $9.3 Million World-Wide Satellite Systems Order From U.S. Army

TeleCommunication Systems, Inc. (TCS) (NASDAQ:TSYS), a world leader in highly reliable and secure mobile communication technology, today announced that it has been awarded a new order with a ceiling value of $9.3 million to provide satellite terminal spare parts to the U.S. Army. The order is initially funded at $5.3 million and will be funded up to a total of $9.3 million if the options are fully exercised through August 2011. This award was made under the Army's $5 billion World-Wide Satellite Systems (WWSS) Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract vehicle in support of the Project Manager for the Warfighter Information Network-Tactical (PM WIN-T). Under the WWSS procurement vehicle, customers may place orders through August 2011 for delivery up to a year thereafter.

TechFaith Reports First Quarter 2010 Financial Results

China Techfaith Wireless Communication Technology Limited (NASDAQ:CNTF ) ("TechFaith" or the "Company") today announced its unaudited financial results for the first quarter ended March 31, 2010.

For the first quarter of 2010, TechFaith reported net revenue of US$60.9 million (RMB 415.8 million), a 1.8% increase compared to US$59.8 million (RMB 408.3 million) in the fourth quarter of 2009 and a 25.1% increase compared to US$48.7 million (RMB 332.9 million) in the same period of last year. Gross margin for the first quarter of 2010 improved to 22.0% compared to 16.1% in the previous quarter and 18.1% in the same quarter last year. Net income attributable to Techfaith for the first quarter of 2010 was US$6.9 million (RMB47.1 million), compared to US$3.1 million (RMB21.2 million) in the fourth quarter of 2009, and US$2.1 million (RMB14.4 million) in the same quarter of last year.

U.S. Internal Revenue Service Issues Contract

RELM Wireless Corporation (NYSE: AMEX - RWC) today announced that it has been named as a contractor under a contract issued by the U.S. Internal Revenue Service (IRS). The contract is for the procurement of P25 digital two-way radios and related equipment by a broad range of federal government agencies such as the departments of Justice, Treasury, Commerce, Education, Transportation, Veterans' Affairs, and numerous others. The maximum total value of the contract is $750 million and spans up to five years commencing on November 30, 2009. The contract includes a select group of companies, including RELM, that meet established criteria. The contract does not specify purchase dates or quantities of equipment from any particular supplier.

VirnetX Declares Essential Patents for 4G Security

VirnetX Holding Corporation (NYSE Amex: VHC), a secure real-time communications and collaboration technology company, today announced that it has declared to the 3GPP (3rd Generation Partnership Project) that its U.S. and international patents are or may be essential to Long Term Evolution (LTE) and 4G wireless specifications. The Company declared 23 patents and 28 applications that specifically pertain to 4G security standards.

VirnetX believes it will hold the majority of 4G essential patents related to Series 33 specifications that define security standards for LTE/4G and is prepared to license the use of its patents for incorporation into 4G related products such as chips, servers, smartphones, laptop computers, etc.
