Saturn Minerals and Swift Resources Receive Coal Prospecting Permits, Arrange Financings

Saturn Minerals Inc. (TSX VENTURE:SMI) ("Saturn") & Swift Resources Inc. (TSX VENTURE:SWR) ("Swift") (and collectively, the "Companies") have received an additional 121 coal prospecting permits from the Saskatchewan Ministry of Energy & Resources. The Companies have now received a total of 254 coal prospecting permits for lands located south, west and northwest of the recent coal discovery made by Goldsource Mines Inc., in the Hudson Bay area.

Ivanhoe Mines Ltd.: SouthGobi Energy Resources Reaches 2008 Target Coal Production of One Million Tonnes Ahead of Schedule and Below Budget at Its Ovoot Tolgoi Coal Mine in Southern Mongolia

Ivanhoe Mines Ltd. (TSX:IVN)(NYSE:IVN)(NASDAQ:IVN) - Ivanhoe Mines' 80%-owned subsidiary, SouthGobi Energy Resources Ltd.(TSX VENTURE:SGQ), announced today that the Ovoot Tolgoi mine in southern Mongolia has produced its first 1,000,000 tonnes of coal ahead of schedule and below budget.

Canasia Industries Corporation: Awarded Additional Coal Permits from Saskatchewan Government

Canasia Industries Corporation (TSX VENTURE:CAJ)(OTCBB:CANSF)(FRANKFURT:45C) ("Canasia") has received approval from the Saskatchewan Ministry of Energy and Resources on coal permits covering 46,080 hectares (approximately 99,000 acres). Canasia has received partial applications to date from the Saskatchewan Government covering 51,520 hectares (approximately 127,250 acres), and management anticipates receiving additional permits in the near future. Once all applications have been received the board will establish a work plan for the coal prospects received.

Waratah and Mineralogy Sign Definitive Support Agreement

Waratah Coal Inc. ("Waratah")(TSX-V:WCI.V)(ASX:WCI.AX) and Mineralogy Pty Ltd. ("Mineralogy") announced today that they have entered into a definitive support agreement in connection with a revised offer by Mineralogy or a wholly-owned subsidiary of Mineralogy (the "Amended Offer"). Pursuant to the terms of the Amended Offer, Waratah shareholders will be entitled to receive CDN$1.60 in cash per share. Mineralogy has also agreed to extend the offer to 11:59 p.m. (local time) on December 15, 2008. Mineralogy's obligation to take up and pay for the Waratah shares is subject to the condition, among others, that there shall have been validly deposited under the Amended Offer and not withdrawn at least 50.1% of the shares on a fully diluted basis (fully diluted excludes all of the "out the money" options and warrants), unless waived.

Kent Receives 24 Saskatchewan Coal Prospecting Permits

Kent Exploration Inc (the "Company") (TSX VENTURE:KEX) reports that it has received 24 Coal Prospecting Permits from Saskatchewan Energy Resources, representing a permitted area of approximately 18,462 hectares (71.2 square miles).

The permitted area consists of two townships located immediately east of, and approximately six miles from, the Adamas coal discovery, where North American Gem has reported a five meter coal intersection grading sub-bituminous A quality. The Company has an additional 96 Coal Disposition Permit applications totaling 73,728 hectares (284.6 square miles) with Saskatchewan Energy Resources that are pending permit approval.
