Cardinal Energy Ltd. Announces Bantry Asset Acquisitions and $28,000,000 Million Private Placement

Cardinal Energy Ltd. ("Cardinal") (CJ.TO) is pleased to announce that it has entered into agreements with two private companies to purchase assets in Cardinal's core Bantry area for an aggregate purchase price of approximately $27 million before adjustments (the "Acquisitions"). The Acquisitions add approximately 350 Boe/d (90% oil and NGLs) of high netback production. In connection with the Acquisitions, Cardinal also announces a bought deal private placement of approximately $28 million (the "Private Placement").

Passport Energy Ltd. Announces Private Placement

Passport Energy Ltd. (PPO - TSX Venture),today announced that it intends to complete a non-brokered private placement of common shares of Passport ("Common Shares") for a minimum offering of $20,000,000 ("Minimum Offering") and a maximum offering of $30,000,000 ("Maximum Offering") (collectively referred to as the "Offering").

Passport has entered into subscription agreements dated January 8, 2014 (the "Subscription Agreements") with 32 Degrees Diversified Energy Fund II (Canadian) L.P. and 32 Degrees Diversified Energy Fund II (US) L.P. (collectively referred to as "32 Degrees") for an aggregate of $13,000,000 worth of Common Shares under the Offering. Passport has not yet received commitments for the balance of the Offering. On completion of the Offering, 32 Degrees will become a "control person" of Passport as described further below.

Africa Hydrocarbons Provides Further Details on Completion Operations at BHN-1 Well in Tunisia

Africa Hydrocarbons Inc. (TSX VENTURE:NFK) ("AHI" or the "Company") today provided the following operational update regarding the Company's BHN-1 exploration well on the Bouhajla Permit in northeastern Tunisia. 

As planned (and previously announced on November 25, 2013) the Company utilized a wireline-conveyed borehole imaging tool to investigate the effectiveness of the initial perforation operation. The operator completed this operation and upon review of the results, planning for re-perforation of the well within the Abiod formation is underway. Timing of this operation will be announced as soon as costs, logistics and sourcing of equipment are finalized.

FX Energy to Complete Szymanowice-1 Well for Production

FX Energy, Inc. (FXEN) reported that the Szymanowice-1 well is commercial and will be completed for production. Logs and lab analysis of the cores from a 33.5 meter section of the top Rotliegend sandstone indicate a gas reservoir with porosity of up to 18%. The Szymanowice-1 well will be completed and tested at the end of the first quarter and is scheduled to begin commercial production early in 2015.

Gas from the Szymanowice-1 will be produced into the Lisewo gas facility located approximately 2 kilometers northwest of the Szymanowice-1 well.  Szymanowice-1 will be the fourth well to be serviced by the Lisewo gas facility.  Lisewo-1 began production in early December 2013, Komorze-3 is scheduled to start producing first quarter 2014, Lisewo-2 is scheduled to begin production in the second half of 2014 and Szymanowice-1 is scheduled to begin producing in the first quarter of 2015.
