Sherwood Copper Corporation (TSX VENTURE: SWC)(TSX VENTURE: SWC.DB) today announced the fifth and final batch of assay results from its 2008 drill program at the high grade Kutcho Copper Project, located in north-western British Columbia. The 2008 program successfully infilled large data gaps within the previous "Main" deposit mineral resource, intersecting thick intervals of near surface, high-grade copper mineralization, with significant by-product values in zinc, silver and gold. The Main deposit is one of three massive sulphide deposits identified at Kutcho, which Sherwood controls through its wholly owned subsidiary, Kutcho Copper Corp.

Cardero Provides Update on the Pampa El Toro Iron Sand Project, Marcona District, Southern Peru

Commercial Scale Melting Test Initiated

Cardero Resource Corp. ("Cardero" or the "Company") (TSX: CDU)(NYSE-A: CDY)(FRANKFURT: CR5) is pleased to provide an update on the Pampa El Toro (PET) iron sands project, located in the Marcona district, Peru. Cardero is currently focusing on two production scenarios for PET iron concentrate, involving near-term iron concentrate production and medium-term pig iron production. The first scenario involves early production of a direct-shipping iron oxide (magnetite) concentrate that could be used as a sinter feed or pelletized into blast furnace feed. The second scenario involves combining the magnetite concentrate with a reductant and melting in an electric arc furnace (EAF) to produce high quality pig iron along with titanium and vanadium by-products.

Sherwood Raises US$37.5 Million From Minto Precious Metal Production

Proceeds to strengthen balance sheet

Sherwood Copper Corporation (TSX VENTURE: SWC)(TSX VENTURE: SWC.DB) today announced that it and its wholly owned subsidiaries, Minto Explorations Ltd. ("MintoEx") and Kutcho Copper Corp. ("KCC"), have entered into a letter of intent with Silverstone Resources Corp. (TSX VENTURE: SST) whereby Silverstone will purchase, subject to certain terms and conditions, all of the payable gold and silver from the Minto Mine in the Yukon, over the life of the mine starting December 1, 2008. Silverstone will make an upfront payment of US$37.5 million in cash, one third of which is to be advanced immediately following receipt of stock exchange acceptance and the balance on execution of the formal agreement. Additional payments will be paid against future production. Sherwood will use the upfront payment to strengthen its balance sheet and that of its subsidiary, MintoEx.

Anatolia reports porphyry copper mineralization announced by Empire at Bursa East

Empire Mining Corporation (EPC: TSX-V) ("Empire" or the "Company") is pleased to announce results of its recently completed initial diamond drill program at the Bursa copper-molybdenum porphyry project in Turkey. Significant copper mineralization was intercepted in five of six holes testing the Karapinar prospect at Bursa including 99.7 metres from surface averaging 0.50% copper, 0.007% molybdenum and 0.10 grams per tonne gold in Drill Hole KDH-006.
